- ➤ New Orleans Saints quarterback Tyler Shough is one of six finalists for the 2025 NFL Rookie of the Year—fans may vote through Jan. 30, and the winner will be announced during Super Bowl week in the Bay Area. WWL-TV
- ➤ At Slidell High School, wrestling coach Brent Bourgeois led the Tigers to an 8-7 record after a 45-27 win at the Dual For The Dell on Jan. 14 — the team expanded from 12 to 28 wrestlers with the Hollis brothers and other talents boosting its performance. The Times-Picayune
