➤ Abita Springs native U.S. Army Specialist (SP4) Matthew King, a Purple Heart recipient, will be honored as Louisiana’s representative in the 2026 Purple Heart Patriot Project. The multi-day tribute will include visits to historic sites including the National Purple Heart Hall of Honor from Apr. 27 to May 1. AN17
