At its annual awards luncheon, the St. Tammany Chamber of Commerce honored Southern Hotel and civic leader Carolyn Baringer for their outstanding leadership — celebrating the hotel’s role in driving tourism in Covington and Baringer’s dedication to local nonprofits.

Slidell won in both the girls’ and boys’ District 7-5A games against Salmen on Tuesday.

The girls secured a 62-52 win that ended Salmen’s 20-game streak while the boys claimed a 65-60 victory behind a strong second quarter & key late plays.
