- ➤ The Krewe of Selene parade will roll down Ponchartrain Blvd, Front Street, and Gauze Blvd in Slidell this Friday the 13th as part of Northshore's growing Mardi Gras celebrations — from Twelfth Night to downtown Covington events — boosting local businesses and offering a safe, family-friendly atmosphere. EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana Act 479 requires cameras in all public and charter school special education classrooms in Slidell as of this month. Livingston Representative Shane Mack said the law also includes crisis intervention training to help staff manage classroom incidents. Louisiana Radio Network

- ➤ Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple said his department is working to set benchmark discounts up to 20% for homeowners with fortified roofs to help lower premiums.
