- ➤ The Krewe of Rex announced that H. Merritt Lane III and Kelsey Grace French will serve as Carnival 2026 King and Queen in Slidell — a title that celebrates local tradition and community pride. WWL-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Christ Episcopal runner Noah Watson, a three-time champion who helped win seven team state titles, signed on Feb. 12 to run cross country and track for Loyola University-New Orleans. Watson said her lifelong love for running boosts her drive to improve. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Nine St. Tammany Parish soccer teams advanced to the state quarterfinals after road upsets in boys’ and girls’ divisions; teams will face opponents on Feb. 16 and Feb. 17 — a result of dramatic wins including penalty shootouts. The Times-Picayune
