CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ A Snoopy-themed Krewe of Thoth float rolled down St. Charles Avenue near Harmony Circle on Sunday, Feb. 15, leaving parade watchers puzzled as it was unoccupied. Local officials have not explained the rider absence, marking the second instance this year of an unmanned float. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ The Officers of Bacchus float, a signature krewe creation introduced in 2018, will roll during the 57th Rendezvous in Slidell— local spectators can enjoy this festive tradition. WWL-TV
- ➤ The St. Tammany Library now posts recorded talks by local authors such as Jourdana Webber, Chris Champagne, and Sandra Scalise Juneau on its website for free. Patrons can also join free tech classes and upcoming events like Robot Day and a film screening at local branches. The Times-Picayune
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Anna Theriot and Madeline Ward of Theriot Academy won the overall title at the Region 8 Science Fair held at Southeastern Louisiana University on Feb. 6. Their project Rusty Apples won first place in biochemistry and advanced them to the state competition at LSU later this spring. AN17
