- ➤ Tucks officials removed two krewe members after beads were used to hang Black dolls during Saturday's parade in a gesture officials deemed racist — they said more disciplinary actions and meetings with city leaders may follow. WWL-TV
- ➤ Local mentor Dane Reynolds launched the Pearl River chapter of Truth In Nature to help troubled boys learn outdoor skills and life lessons — like hunting and fishing — through monthly outings with schools and churches. The fastest growing chapter in the U.S. aims to build confidence and foster role models. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ Hannan boys' and girls' soccer teams won 3—2 and 1—0 quarterfinal games on Feb. 16 at Hawk Field to reach the state semifinals for the second straight season; the boys are set to host E.D. White on Feb. 20 at 6:00 p.m. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ On Feb. 13, Pearl River boys and girls basketball teams swept rival Lakeshore, with the boys' win moving them closer to a home playoff game next week and the girls earning a 22nd seed for a travel opening round game. The Times-Picayune
