- ➤ Southeastern Louisiana University’s Lake Maurepas Monitoring Project team will host the free Science in Action event on March 20 at Middendorf’s in Manchac in Akers, La, from 4 to 6 p.m. Registered participants (limited to 60) can view new monitoring data and enjoy a complimentary dinner buffet. - ➤ The St. Claude Avenue Bridge is closed for vehicle and marine traffic due to an electrical issue – drivers should use Judge Seeber Bridge or Florida Avenue Bridge. WWL-TV
- ➤ Louisiana Agriculture Commissioner Mike Strain said processors in the state's crawfish industry are facing a labor shortage and plant closures because H-2B visas have been capped and visa applications deferred until January—he has reached out to federal officials including the White House for help.
