- ➤ Louisiana gas prices jumped 40 cents per gallon after military action in Iran, with AAA reporting an average of $2.96 on Friday and parishes showing varied increases & the state remaining among the cheaper markets. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ Three Tammany students have been named finalists for the state’s 2025-2026 Student of the Year contest after excelling in academics, leadership, and service — Brix LaFontaine from Little Oak Middle, Robert Ryals IV from Fontainebleau Junior High, and Beija Lopes-Morgan from Mandeville High will compete at the state level soon. - ➤ Mark Pennison returned as Hannan’s head wrestling coach on March 6 at the school he helped build, replacing Jay Faucheux. He will coach with his son (Mark Pennison III) while focusing on mentorship, discipline and faith-based leadership. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Northshore’s boys’ basketball team lost 61-58 in a close Division I nonselect game on March 6 — the Broncos held on in the final minute, while defending state champion Hannan fell 62-51 to top-seeded Madison Prep in their Division II select quarterfinal as free throws made the difference.
