- ➤ Local groups host several events this week, including a pancake breakfast with the Easter Bunny on March 21 from 8 to 11 a.m. at Fontainebleau High School, a scholarship breakfast on March 20 at Benedict’s in Mandeville, and a healing bike ride on March 28 along Fontainebleau St. Park. - ➤ Habitat for Humanity West marked 45 years of service with a breakfast at The River Mill at Coquille Park near Madisonville on March 5, where homeowners and volunteers shared their stories and inspirations. - ➤ Artist Charmaine Allesandro’s vibrant painting was selected as the Arts Evening poster in Olde Towne Slidell, where over 80 local artists will display their work on March 21. She will also sell signed copies of the poster (a nod to her personal journey). The Times-Picayune

- ➤ U.S. Education Secretary Linda McMahon endorsed Gov Jeff Landry’s plan to double funding for the LA GATOR Program +which currently supports 5,600 families at $44M and may rise to $88M+, as lawmakers debate affordability concerns raised by Senate President Cameron Henry. Louisiana Radio Network

- ➤ Roseland residents have been without water for several days as officials work to run a temporary line after discovering chemical burns on a 6 inch water main near the Smitty's plant. They await testing from the Louisiana Department of Health before fully restoring service. WDSU

- ➤ NAMI SELA offers free mental health programs in St. Tammany and nine parishes with peer support, training, telehealth, and campus initiatives at local schools; it will host a Raising Hope Soiree on March 27 with live jazz & a NAMIWalks event on May 16 in Mandeville to fund its expansion. - ➤ Northlake Christian defeated Pope John Paul II with an 11-0 mercy rule win that snapped a five-game losing streak. Senior pitcher Abigail Willie struck out nine and led an eight-run fourth that energized the team. The Times-Picayune
