- ➤ The fifth annual Tour de Lis is set for March 29 at Fountainbleau State Park and gives riders a chance to ride 10, 25, 40 or 62 miles to help local cancer services. - ➤ Southeastern Louisiana University in Hammond announced Wayne Ricks as the new director of the Louisiana Small Business Development Center—he will lead the center's operations, consulting services and training programs to support local small businesses. - ➤ Workers removed 34 storm-damaged trees at Greenwood Cemetery on Monday, March 17 as part of a $60K program funded by a three-year USDA Forest Service grant—officials said the trees will be replaced by 72 native trees while crews take extreme care to avoid disturbing unmarked graves. An archeologist may inspect the site if any human remains are uncovered during the work. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Cleco and the Northshore Community Foundation installed six new EV charging stations in Slidell through a partnership with non-profit Adopt a Charger—bringing the total to 17 stations in St. Tammany Parish with two at John Slidell Park, Fritchie Park and Heritage Park. The stations use 240 volts to add about 25 miles of range per hour and support a $250,000 investment to boost local EV infrastructure. AN17
