- ➤ A Pearl River man was convicted of indecent behavior with a juvenile under 13 after trial testimony showed he repeatedly touched an 8-year-old girl in March 2022—he will be sentenced in May. WDSU
- ➤ A Pearl River teen allegedly threatened his former school online after a parent alerted school officials, and deputies arrested Webster Bourgeois (18) on Saturday with him now facing up to 15 years in prison if convicted. WWL-TV

- ➤ A federal judge blocked a Gulf offshore oil and gas lease sale because the agency did not fully assess the impact on the endangered Rice’s whale — the sale will move forward only after further environmental reviews are completed. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ Louisiana voters in the municipal primary rejected all four constitutional amendments on March 29, which would have changed rules on judicial discipline for out-of-state lawyers, tax laws, juvenile crime trials and filling judicial vacancies—Governor Landry and a local grassroots campaign said they will work on new reforms after the vote. - ➤ More than 100 locals participated in the 42nd annual Henry J. Calamari Memorial 2 mile Run/Walk held on March 22 with finishers ranging from 2 to 84 years old. Slidell High student Jackson Mackie finished first overall for males in 11:27 and Dyllan Navarre of Our Lady of Lourdes School won the top female race in 13:30—race director Henry P. - ➤ Pope John Paul II senior Mady Hill signed with Indiana University, Indianapolis on March 27 to join their Division I swim team and reach her dream of competitive swimming. She earned state swim meet honors and broke relay records at school (the university kept its Division I status after splitting this summer). The Times-Picayune
