- ➤ Sgt. Grant Candies, who died last week during a high-speed chase that led to three teen arrests, is honored today at Harbor Center in Slidell where visitation starts at 10 a.m. with a service at 1 p.m.—the funeral procession route has been released. WDSU
- ➤ St. Tammany Parish deputies are investigating a shooting near a Slidell home on U.S. Highway 190 and Red Mill Drive—an incident that began with a disturbance at the home and left a man hospitalized. WDSU

- ➤ On March 29, St. Tammany voters approved a library tax renewal by 55 percent but rejected a two cent sales tax diversion—this measure would have boosted funds for courts, the DA’s office and other criminal justice needs. District Attorney Collin Sims warned officials might face cuts to public safety programs next year and said they will work with voters to find another revenue solution. FOX 8
