- ➤ A dozen ducklings were rescued from a storm drain on Good Friday when local neighbors and Walmart workers called firefighters on Natchez Drive to help reunite them with their worried mother (the rescue was a community effort). WWL-TV

- ➤ Mandeville-based Watch Systems, maker of OffenderWatch software, received a Silicon Valley buyout offer last fall to fund acquisitions and growth. The company, which has been in business for over 25 years, will remain in Louisiana as it plans to expand its staff + contractor base. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Amazon is negotiating to buy Covington-based satellite firm Globalstar for up to $9 billion. The deal, if it clears regulatory and strategic hurdles, would reduce another publicly traded Louisiana company while boosting Amazon’s satellite division for broadband services. WWL-TV
