  • Slidell firefighters are asking for help to locate Bourbon (an eight-year-old dog with a hot pink collar) who was ejected from a car in a serious crash on I-12 near the Hwy 11 Brownswitch exit, and the injured dog's owner urges anyone who sees Bourbon to call 985-898-2340.  WDSU
  • STHS Parenting Center held a ribbon-cutting ceremony Tuesday, April 7 to unveil its new 3,000-sqft home on Koop Drive near the Kids Konnection playground and Tammany Trace recreation trail. The center now offers indoor and outdoor play and classroom spaces for local families to learn and grow together.  AN17

  • Nunez Community College is launching an equipment program to help train workers faster for local job sites + meet the growing demand for skilled labor in southeast Louisiana.  WWL-TV

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • On Tuesday, lawmakers passed two bills offering sales and property tax breaks to aerospace firms that must invest $1B + create 200 permanent jobs by 2031. The measures aim to boost industry growth and keep opportunities in Louisiana competitive with neighboring states.  The Times-Picayune
  • Representatives from the District Attorney’s Office partnered with Hope House to launch National Child Abuse Prevention Month by planting a blue pinwheel garden outside the St. Tammany Parish Justice Center yesterday (the garden stands as a reminder of every child's right to a safe, healthy childhood).  AN17

  • FOX 8 Sports analyst Jeff Duncan broke down the future roles for Saints players Kamara, Jordan and Olave in an analysis released yesterday. Duncan explained how coach Kellen Moore may adjust the backfield strategy ahead of upcoming games.  FOX 8
