ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Authorities say Bourbon, an 8-year-old mix wearing a hot pink collar, is missing after she was likely thrown from a vehicle in a single-car crash on east I-12 near the U.S. 11 exit on Easter night; residents should not chase her but call (985-898-2340) if seen.  The Times-Picayune

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Two standout Salmen High School football players, Jimmy Chanzy and Joshua Loydrake, announced their college commitments on Apr. 8; Chanzy joins Bethany College (NAIA) in Lindsborg and Loydrake will play for Division III Belhaven in Jackson.  The Times-Picayune

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Historic District Landmarks Commission reviewed Tulane University's demolition application for Ted's Frostop diner yesterday. The proposal wanted to replace the diner with student housing, a parking garage + shops while saving the neon sign, though many neighbors opposed the plan citing its value as a Katrina-era reminder.  WDSU
