- ➤ Justine Rickman, a local who lost an arm in a dog attack, is hosting a fundraiser today at Fat Boys Pizza in Covington starting at 1:00 p.m. The event will include (kid-friendly) activities, a DJ, and local restaurant donations to help cover her ongoing medical expenses. WDSU
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ The St. Tammany Parish School Board approved a resolution (after a 20-minute debate) at its Finance and Administrative committee meeting on Thursday to display the Ten Commandments in public classrooms using donated posters. Final approval is expected at the full board meeting on April 16. The Times-Picayune
ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Crews are working to contain a woods fire near Pearl River in St. Tammany Parish today, and officials (reporting homes are not in danger) advise residents to avoid the area (for safety reasons). WWL-TV
