- ➤ Fire crews from the St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 responded Monday morning at 11 a.m. to a fire in the auxiliary gym at Slidell High School — a separate building from the main campus; no injuries were reported, and officials said ongoing metalwork caused the blaze. WDSU

- ➤ The Slidell robotics team won first place in a regional competition held recently at a local high school and showcased strong teamwork and skills in robotics. FOX 8
- ➤ A Slidell robotics team known as Acorn to Oaks won first place Saturday at Dauphin Island Sea Lab in Alabama, beating 18 teams with a custom-built underwater robot — it showcased new technology for offshore energy and seabed mapping. FOX 8

- ➤ WWL Radio host Scott (Scoot) Paisant returned to the air Monday after undergoing open-heart surgery to repair a congenital valve defect; he said his heart is performing better and he is regaining strength on sunset walks in the community. WWL-TV
