- ➤ On April 18, Collin Avery had a seizure while driving on Oak Harbor Boulevard and crashed his truck into a canal—Slidell firefighters quickly dove into the water to rescue him from the sinking vehicle. FOX 8
CRIME NEWS
- ➤ Sarah Blackmon was sentenced to 40 years in prison after pleading guilty to manslaughter and drug charges following the overdose death of Theresa Zar at Slidell City Jail in November. The adoptive parents of Zar’s children have filed a lawsuit against the jail, police department and officers—alleging that missed cell checks and delays in care led to her prolonged unresponsiveness.
