- ➤ The St. Tammany Parish School Board preliminarily voted on May 7 to extend free breakfast and lunch for the 2026-27 school year at the C.J. Schoen Administrative Complex in Covington; final approval is expected on May 21 to ensure every student can eat. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Southeastern Louisiana University’s Research Council showcased research using the fast-paced PechaKucha format at Blackened Brew in Hammond. The event featured competitive faculty presentations on topics + ranging from wildlife studies to nanotech applications. AN17
