CRIME NEWS
- ➤ The St. Tammany Parish Animal Shelter is at critical capacity after authorities rescued 28 pit bulls from a dog fighting investigation in Folsom—one kennel was closed to securely care for the aggressive dogs that cannot be adopted as the case proceeds. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Sgt. Grant Candies, 37, died in March when he was struck while deploying spike strips on Interstate 10 near the Oak Harbor exit, and a roadside memorial in St. Tammany Parish now honors his sacrifice—three teens including driver Adrian Waughtal, 17, and Slidell passengers Michael Emanuel Lanier and Mason Paul Eugene Fischer, both 17, have been arrested and face charges of murder and kidnapping in connection with the high-speed chase.
