- ➤ A 38-year-old Slidell man named Antwine Smith was arrested on May 14 after a traffic stop near West End Boulevard and Lakeshore Marina Drive led officers to find marijuana, cash, packaging materials and a semi-automatic handgun with an obliterated serial number—further searches of his home uncovered additional drugs and he now faces charges including firearm possession and resisting arrest. - ➤ The Louisiana Department of Wildlife and Fisheries is working with ten other Southeastern states to teach people how to safely live with alligators. The coalition launched GatorWise.org — a site with tips such as not feeding alligators and avoiding food scraps in water to help lower the number of nuisance complaints. WWL-TV
