- ➤ A Slidell traffic stop on May 14 near West End Boulevard led detectives to arrest 38-year-old convicted felon Antwine Smith after he fled on foot and officers seized a gun, drugs and money—he now faces several charges. AN17
EDUCATION NEWS
- ➤ Fifteen children aged 5-16 from local areas received summer arts camp scholarships from the Tangipahoa-based sNoBalls parading group to study music, theater, dance, and visual arts. The group grew from awarding three scholarships last season to nearly 40 applications this year (led by Marcia Arceneaux) and plans to expand its membership and support for local arts education. AN17
