- ➤ Dr. Robert Tassin from Slidell—64—pleaded guilty today for ordering unnecessary CGx tests that led to over $2 million in false Medicare claims—his sentencing is set for August 28. AN17
- ➤ Escaped inmate Antoine Massey is accused of beating and strangling a woman in Slidell last November after she reported him for abuse — police said he drove her between family homes and restaurants while he continued his attack until she escaped and authorities began searching for him. FOX 8

- ➤ After a stretch of drier days, southeast Louisiana and the New Orleans metro will face heavy rain from a slow-moving system today through Friday, dropping one to two inches of rain and raising flash flooding concerns—LSU Health Climatologist Barry Keim warns that the strong showers may also produce hail and isolated tornadoes.
