GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Homeowners can apply for grants up to $10,000 today at 8 a.m. through the Louisiana Fortify Homes Program, which has already helped 4,500+ families upgrade roofs for better storm protection and potential insurance savings. Applications run until June 19.  WWL-TV
  • Regional leaders completed infrastructure improvements and finalized evacuation plans ahead of hurricane season that began Sunday and will peak in September. Local agencies worked on pump repairs, drainage cleaning, and levee fortification to ensure communities are prepared for potential storms.  FOX 8
