Good morning, Slidell.

Gov. Jeff Landry's administration has negotiated a $2.6 billion incentive package through secret NDAs for a new Hyundai steel plant in Donaldsonville that will create 1,300 jobs.

The deal offers tax breaks, free land, cash payments, and a $300 million discount + some locals question the secrecy.

Louisiana Gov. Jeff Landry signed Angel’s Law on June 1 — expanding perinatal bereavement care in state hospitals by requiring maternity and NICU units to offer training and cooling devices for grieving families.

A local man recovering from typhus detailed his three-week stay at the VA hospital and said he nearly died — his account sheds light on the seriousness of the illness.

He spoke out to share his experience.

NOCHI students will run the Deux Fuegos pop-up restaurant serving Mexican-Creole fusion for lunch for one more week (Chef Kalen Gray shared details).
