- ➤ Louisiana's new Senate Bill 232 updates the state's film incentive program by removing a $20 million production cap and a $3 million payroll limit and allowing productions to receive a 40% tax credit on in-state spending + a 15% bonus for hiring Louisiana residents. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Lawmakers passed a bill letting homeowners insure their homes at a stated value during the insurance crisis and approved bills that give public school teachers a permanent pay raise tied to a constitutional amendment + tax credits for fortified roofs. They also passed a multi-billion operating budget that funds tutoring and teacher stipends before the session ended at 6 p.m. today. FOX 8
- ➤ Louisiana lawmakers passed two bills that create a one-door system to let residents get benefits from one place—HB624 shifts SNAP work to the Department of Health while HB617 moves other programs to Louisiana Works. Gov. Jeff Landry must sign the bills for them to become law. The Times-Picayune
