- ➤ Corey Griffin, 39, fired at police after a 911 hang-up call on Riviera Drive just after midnight Monday and then fled the scene, later being found hiding in an abandoned car — he now faces aggravated assault and attempted first degree murder charges — while police continue to search for his missing gun. - ➤ Slidell police were fired upon while responding to a domestic violence complaint on Monday morning, and a suspect who shot at officers and fled on foot was later found hiding in an abandoned vehicle—no officers were injured. The Times-Picayune
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The U.S. Supreme Court agreed Monday to hear arguments from Chevron and Exxon on moving coastal wetlands lawsuits from local parishes to federal court — a decision that may impact a recent $745 million verdict and 42 similar cases seeking billions to restore Louisiana’s coastline.
