- ➤ Local air conditioning companies say homeowners will pay more for repairs this summer due to tariffs—supply chain issues and new HVAC regulations have driven up prices and service calls. The company advises customers to replace filters and clear debris from outdoor units to help prevent expensive repairs. WDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting August 1, Louisiana drivers will have to keep off the left lane unless they are passing another vehicle. The new law raises fines for slow driving—$150 for a first offense, $250 for a second offense and $350 plus up to 30 days in jail for a third offense to boost road safety and enforcement. WWL-TV
- ➤ Louisiana will enforce a new law that forces drivers to avoid left-lane cruising even if they are just 1 mph under the speed limit—tickets will increase to $150 on the first offense with higher fines and possible jail time on subsequent violations, and the law will take effect on August 1.
