Starting tomorrow the red snapper bag limit will increase to five per person for Fourth of July weekend, a change announced by LDWF Secretary Tyler Bosworth.
The higher limit will expire on Sunday and the season lasts until November as families are encouraged to fish safely.
Air Products canceled its proposed carbon sequestration project for Lake Maurepas on Tuesday, June 30, leading parish officials to express relief as project economics did not meet expectations & community opposition prevailed.
The cancellation ends nearly five years of local debate over the lake's protection.
