- ➤ Lafayette native Dustin Poirier lost his final UFC retirement fight to Max Holloway at Smoothie King Center Saturday night in New Orleans. He told the crowd (18,000 strong) that he is still chasing dreams (feeling grateful and proud) as he left the cage for the last time. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Saints quarterback Tyler Shough agreed to a fully guaranteed 4-year, $10.7M contract Saturday and will compete with Spencer Rattler for the starting job this fall. The team will pay him bonus incentives when training camp starts Wednesday, July 23 — most of his money comes in the first week. WWL-TV
