- ➤ Officers from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff's Office said a July 30 search of a Slidell home uncovered stolen luxury vehicles including a 2022 GMC Sierra from Houston, a 2020 Mercedes GL from Jefferson Parish, and a 2016 Mercedes G6A from New Orleans—eight guns, drugs, and cash were also seized while two suspects were arrested and a warrant was issued for a third. ECONOMY NEWS
- ➤ BP started production on three new wells at its Argos platform Monday—boosting output by up to 20,000 barrels per day while Shell, Chevron and Beacon Offshore also launched similar projects in the Gulf. Louisiana is expected to gain up to $46 million extra per year from a new law that raised the offshore revenue cap for coastal restoration. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ SLU professor Fereshteh Emami was removed from her leading role in the Lake Maurepas pollution study on July 28, and university officials say the move was a personnel decision unrelated to her work.
