- ➤ Several auto insurance companies have filed over 20 rate decreases this year as fewer accidents led to lower claims, explained Louisiana Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple who said rates have dropped 2% on average from past double-digit increases. Lawmakers passed legal reforms to limit lawsuits and curb high claims, and Temple said the changes will take time to fully balance the market—some areas may still see more claims.
