- ➤ St. Tammany Parish Animal Services shelter in Lacombe has partnered with NBC Universal’s nationwide Clear the Shelters campaign — lowering adoption fees to $35 for dogs and $30 for cats — to help more local families adopt pets and support the shelter’s no-kill goal. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ Calvin U. Brown III was convicted by a St. Tammany Parish jury of ambushing and shooting his estranged wife four times in 2022 in an attempted second-degree murder case—supported by surveillance footage, phone records, and data from his Apple watch—and he will be sentenced on Oct. 15 with up to 50 years in prison.
