CRIME NEWS

  • A Slidell smoke shop owner was arrested Saturday after deputies raided Smoke AZ 3 — located on Gause Boulevard West — and seized over 25,000 Kratom capsules, powders, beverages, and other illegal products following the recent ban, while further enforcement actions remain under investigation.  WWL-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Slidell senior Ava Labat returns for her fourth season as the Tigers’ starting setter and will lead her team in defending their Division I state title—she brings strong skills in setting, defense and blocking to lift her teammates. Labat was named Louisiana MaxPreps Player of the Year last season and is set to help the Tigers win again.  The Times-Picayune
