  • St. Tammany firefighters rescued Meatball—a blind, deaf Shih Tzu—from a culvert near his Lacombe home on Tuesday after his owner, Chuck Gorney, tracked him using an AirTag, and the 15-year-old dog is now resting.  The Times-Picayune

CRIME NEWS

  • Slidell police say 18-year-old Justin Lebouef led officers on a chase Saturday night during a loitering sweep and lost a tire, crashing on Interstate 10 near Irish Bayou before fleeing—he is now wanted on active warrants.  WDSU

  • Louisiana has very high STI rates, with young people ages 15 to 24 being the most affected. Health officials urge safe sex and regular testing—free screenings are available in every parish.  WGNO
