- ➤ All seven vendors at the Louisiana Shrimp and Petroleum Festival were confirmed to serve local wild-caught shrimp after SeaD Consulting used its Rapid ID Genetic High-Accuracy Test. Kermit Duck said the new rules support local shrimpers—helping ensure consumers get honest labeling. WGNO

- ➤ Slidell voters know the mayor's race is heating up as Police Chief Randy Fandal and City Councilman Bill Borchert vie for the top job after former Mayor Greg Cromer resigned. Many residents said they care more about fixing roads and cleaning up neighborhoods than party politics—expecting the new leader to bring real progress. WWL-TV
- ➤ DOTD and Destination Zero Deaths launched a contest for Louisiana high school students to create videos that show the importance of wearing seatbelts and avoiding phone distractions while driving.
