  • The Northshore Legislative Delegation and Southeastern Louisiana University will host a town hall meeting on September 17 at the Columbia Theatre in Hammond with House Speaker Phillip DeVillier as a guest. Attendees will discuss issues including insurance, budget, crime, education, DOTD reform and tax reform while space is limited so early registration is advised.  AN17

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Cardinals held off the Saints in a 20-13 win on Sunday that spoiled head coach Kellen Moore's debut—Spencer Rattler’s incomplete pass in the final seconds left the Saints winless. The Saints will host the 49ers next Sunday at noon.  WWL-TV
  • The Saints lost their home opener to the Cardinals but fans left the dome upbeat—many are hopeful for a strong comeback and will watch the 49ers game on Sunday at noon.  WWL-TV
