- ➤ Robin is a spayed 3-month-old brown and white shorthaired tabby who needs a forever home. She has been at the St. Tammany Parish Department of Animal Services shelter in Lacombe since late July—adoptions help keep the shelter's inventory low. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Residents in Roseland met at a town hall to voice concerns about their health near Smitty’s Supply—an event that drew local attention to these issues. WWL-TV

- ➤ Hubig’s Pies and French Truck Coffee teamed up to launch a limited-edition Café Au Lait hand pie made with French Truck Coffee Cold Brew. It will be sold in Louisiana shops from Sept. 29 to Oct. 10—once they’re gone, they’re gone. WGNO
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry requested Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth to activate 1,000 National Guardsmen under Title 32 to patrol urban centers—New Orleans and Baton Rouge—and support law enforcement amid rising violent crime and personnel shortages. The troops are planned to remain on duty through the end of Fiscal Year 2026. WWL-TV

- ➤ In September, St. Tammany schools played tough volleyball matches as rankings shifted with St. Scholastica’s rise after several losses and mixed results for Hannan, Slidell, Northlake Christian and Fontainebleau.
