ENVIRONMENT NEWS
- ➤ Southeastern Louisiana University recently installed seven chemical monitoring buoys in Lake Maurepas as part of its ongoing environmental project. Six buoys were placed along the lake's edge — with one in the center used to measure water quality and aquatic life, and the data will soon be available to the public. AN17
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ The Northshore boys and girls cross-country teams won the team titles at the Nicholls Invitational on Sept 27 by training as a tight-knit group that pushed each other to top placements. They will keep their focus on training for the regional meet on Nov 6—head coach Vincent Ruda said the team's work ethic brought this success. The Times-Picayune
