- ➤ Halloween is nearly here as local attractions plan a variety of spooky events for the weekend—Zero Latency will feature a virtual haunted escape room in the CBD while The Mortuary in Mid-City stages a haunted house in its historic 1872 mansion. Krewe of BOO! will hold its parade and parties and the family-friendly Boo Carré Halloween Haunt is set for Saturday in the French Market. WGNO

- ➤ On Oct. 23, Northshore rallied from a 2-1 set deficit to defeat defending champion Fontainebleau in a five-set District 6-I volleyball match—ending 25-18, 19-25, 13-25, 26-24, 15-7.
