- ➤ Tim Lantrip, owner of the English Tea Room and Eatery, was named Grand Marshal for the 2026 Krewe of Bogue Falaya Mardi Gras parade by officials during an Oct. 31st meeting at the Southern Hotel. The parade will include 24 floats and 800 riding members on Feb. 17th, 2026 with Lundi Gras celebrations starting Feb. 16th, 2026—honoring his awards and steady community work. WGNO
ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ Firefighters contained a large barn fire at Lewis Stables in Slidell early Saturday — St. Tammany Fire Protection District #1 said the investigation is ongoing. WWL-TV
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Louisiana Department of Health announced that eligible residents will receive November SNAP benefits in four smaller installments starting in the first four days of November — a measure to ease food challenges for seniors, disabled people and children amid a federal shutdown. The state program will serve as a temporary bridge until federal funds resume. WWL-TV
