- ➤ On Nov. 17, Lakeview Hospital will start a three-week drive to collect new, unwrapped toys and gifts for area children at 95 Judge Tanner Blvd (donations are accepted in the Human Resources office from Monday through Friday between 8 a.m. and 4:30 p.m. and in the Guest Services office after hours). The items will be given to a local nonprofit that organizes a Project Christmas drive for families in need. The Times-Picayune

- ➤ Louisiana shrimpers have used SEAD Consulting’s new Right Test to ensure local seafood served at festivals and restaurants is authentic—raising rates from 20% to 100%. The test supports the industry in its ongoing battle against imported seafood. WGNO

- ➤ Louisiana artists were nominated for multiple Grammy Awards categories as announced Friday morning in New Orleans. Lainey Wilson, Ledisi, Jon Batiste — and Trombone Shorty are among the nominees, and the awards ceremony will be held on Feb. 1. WDSU
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The St. Tammany Parish Council passed a regulation to inspect home sewer systems every three years—aiming to clean polluted waterways, inspectors will begin examining systems in the southern parish in January while exempting homes north of the urban growth boundary. Homeowners with failing systems may face fines up to $100 a month and can apply for grants to help cover repair costs. The Times-Picayune
