- ➤ State Insurance Commissioner Tim Temple approved Allstate North American Insurance Co.'s filing for a 7.6% rate decrease for nearly 11,000 personal auto policyholders in Louisiana effective Jan. 8th, 2026—he also approved a 15% reduction for Encompass Insurance Company's National General program effective Dec. 8th. - ➤ St. Tammany Parish Hospital earned its 20th straight A grade for patient safety from the Leapfrog Group, marking a decade of high performance since April 2016—an achievement that shows the team’s strong commitment to safe care. AN17
- ➤ Louisiana health officials recalled ByHeart infant formula after tests showed it may be contaminated with Clostridium botulinum (which can cause infant botulism) and advised caregivers to discard the product immediately. They recommended that parents watch infants for symptoms like weak muscles and poor feeding for 30 days after the last feeding. WGNO
- ➤ A local mother is racing to raise funds for an experimental treatment for her 3-year-old with Sanfilippo Syndrome—a rare genetic disorder with few treatment options. The family hopes the new treatment will offer hope in managing the condition as they work quickly to gather the necessary funds. WWL-TV
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Northlake Christian senior Kameron Casnave reached 5,000 career rushing yards on his first play—a 45‐yard touchdown run—that helped his team beat St. Louis Catholic 59–20 on November 14th, finishing with 220 yards and four touchdowns. - ➤ St. Paul's seniors dominated Pineville in their final home game on November 14 with a 56-7 first-round playoff win as the Wolves gained nearly 500 yards and forced five turnovers—senior Cody Corales rushed for three touchdowns and the team now looks ahead to a tougher challenge in Shreveport next week.
