ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • Causeway Police have set up a rolling fog convoy on the southbound Lake Pontchartrain Causeway due to low visibility — drivers are required to stay in their lanes as speeds adjust with changing conditions.  FOX 8

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Louisiana schools earned their highest record score from the 2024-2025 school year—public schools received an overall B with a statewide performance score of 80.9. State Superintendent Cade Brumley said the revised grading system, which would lower many high school grades, may lead to lower scores next year.  The Times-Picayune

HEALTH NEWS

  • With Thanksgiving a week away, WWL-TV Chef Kevin Belton is urging home cooks to plan turkey prep carefully—thawing needs 24 hours per 4–5 pounds—and to use a fresh bird if short on time. He also warns that side dishes be kept hot or cold safely and leftovers should not be stored for more than three days.  WWL-TV

SPORTS NEWS

  • Tomorrow night, the second round of LHSAA football playoffs begins with select matchups across three divisions—Division I, III and IV. Division I features an 8-9 game between Evangel and St. Paul’s, while the Catholic New Iberia Panthers face the Bunkie Panthers and Southern Lab meets Ouachita Christian in Monroe—experts expect close contests.  Louisiana Radio Network
  • At the LHSAA state cross country championships on November 17 at Northwestern State University, Christ Episcopal’s girls team finished third and the boys team finished fourth in Division V. Senior Noah Watson ran a notable race with a time of 20:24.6 (a strong result that underlines the school’s tradition) as the teams built on their past success.  The Times-Picayune
