ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A kitchen fire at Touro Hospital on Saturday afternoon forced patients, staff and 14 NICU babies to be evacuated while dining services were temporarily closed—officials managed the two-alarm fire.  WWL-TV

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Northshore Technical Community College announced the appointment of Taryn Spikes-Webb as its EPA-funded Outreach Program Manager to lead environmental education efforts in wastewater management. She will develop workshops and outreach materials—using NTCC’s Mobile STEM Lab—to help improve local water quality and public health.  AN17
  • Northshore Technical Community College partnered with The 1881 Institute to launch an evening CNC Machining course focused on 5-Axis machining that began on November 3 and will run until December 18 at the Hammond Campus Machine Tool Room—students gain hands-on skills in CNC fundamentals, technical drawings, and machine operation without needing prior experience.  AN17

SPORTS NEWS

  • Ranked No. 24, Tulane beat Temple 37-13 in Philadelphia on Saturday as quarterback Jake Retzlaff scored three touchdowns—Tulane's defense forced a turnover and kept the Owls to 204 yards. The Green Wave will close the regular season against Charlotte next Saturday.  WWL-TV
