Here's your local news at a glance for Monday, the 1st of December.
Good morning, Slidell.
💼 Business
Local shoppers visited small businesses on Small Business Saturday to find unique gifts and support local enterprises, and many shops offered special deals to boost sales.
The event highlighted local commerce and encouraged neighborhood spending.
🏥 Health
St. Tammany Parish Government is considering $620,000 in cuts that may force a major shutdown of the Safe Haven mental health campus in 2026, leaving its three tenants unsure if they can continue operations.
Officials will decide on the proposal at a Dec. 4 meeting—while efforts to balance funding, along with multi-million dollar projects, remain in question.
