- ➤ Four Southeastern Louisiana University faculty were honored as 40 Under 40 by Northshore Media Group’s Edge of the Lake magazine at a special event held at the Southern Hotel (downtown Covington). The honorees include Maria Brylski, Brent Blazevich, Katherine Newell Evans, and Myia L. Graves. AN17
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ U.S. Sen. Bill Cassidy introduced a bill requiring Customs to pay $38.5 million in accrued interest on seafood dumping duties, with $10.6 million supporting Louisiana crawfish producers. The measure aims to help local seafood businesses face China’s pricing tactics. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ The westbound side of Claiborne Avenue Bridge is closed from 9 a.m. to noon for drain cleaning (eastbound traffic is reduced to one lane), so drivers should use the St. Claude or Florida Avenue bridges as alternatives. WWL-TV
