- ➤ Harbour Energy, a British firm, will acquire Covington-based LLOG Exploration in a $3.2 billion deal, combining $2.7 billion in cash & $500 million in shares. The deal, expected to close in early next year, keeps LLOG's name, leadership, and Covington headquarters, ensuring it continues deepwater operations in the Gulf. The Times-Picayune
CULTURE NEWS
- ➤ Le Cotillion will present six debutantes and three escorts at its 45th ball on Jan. 3 at Harbor Center near Slidell. The event honors high school graduates transitioning to college, highlighting each debutante’s academic and extracurricular achievements. The Times-Picayune
- ➤ Louisiana will join the 2026 Rose Parade on Jan. 1 at 10 a.m. CT in Pasadena with a float featuring a giant pelican chef stirring gumbo with Gulf ingredients and riders statewide. The float will include a performance by country singer John Foster (a native of Addis). WDSU
