On Tuesday, Slidell made history when Louisiana’s first Safe Haven Baby Box was unveiled outside St. Tammany Fire Station 11 — a device largely funded by Travis Born’s donation and costing nearly $30,000 that offers a safe, anonymous option for mothers in crisis.

Local leaders said the launch marks the start of ongoing awareness campaigns and future installations in other parishes.

A California-based firm working on the Archdiocese bankruptcy case said it was hit by a ransomware attack in late February that breached an employee laptop on March 2—hackers claimed they deleted the stolen data.

The firm is now working with data experts to check if any personal information on clergy abuse survivors was taken as settlement talks continue.

Their achievement, earned by only 5.4% of eligible Girl Scouts, is recognized by colleges and employers as a sign of strong leadership and discipline.
